Template:Citebukhari/doc

From Sarkarverse
Jump to navigation Jump to search

This template creates a citation to the Sahih al-Bukhari. It automatically generates the title and the volume number, and includes the book number which the user must supply and the optional hadith number which the user may supply. With this is generates a link to the translation by Muhammad Muhsin Khan hosted by the University of Southern California at [1].

Usage

Code format:

({{citebukhari|BOOK|NUMBER}})
Note parentheses: (See WP:EL). Inline external links (this template links offsite) must be separated from the article text by parentheses. (Parentheses are deliberately not included in this template to allow for flexible usage.) In footnote references there is no need to separate with parentheses.
Example 1
{{citebukhari|61|509}} yields: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, Template:Str rightc 6.61.509
Example 2
{{citebukhari|62|92p}} yields: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, Template:Str rightc 7.62.92p
Example 3
{{citebukhari|1}} yields: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, 1.1

The two parameters—BOOK and NUMBER—are not named and must be given in that order. BOOK is required. NUMBER is optional. The volume does not have to be included, as it is inferred by the template code from the BOOK.
