Description

The {{mfd-mergeto}} and {{mfd-mergefrom}} templates are intended for use by a sysop who closes an MfD debate with a consensus to merge the nominee into another page (or by a different user acting on such a decision).

Instructions

Upon removing the {{mfd}} notice (if still present), add the {{mfd-mergeto}} tag to the top of the nominated page (not its talk page). Use the following format:

{{mfd-mergeto|destination page|debate name|debate closure date|talk page of destination page}}

For example, assume that a debate was closed on 27 April 2024. If the consensus is to merge the nominated page into a page called Sarkarverse:Topic X, and the debate is located at Sarkarverse:Miscellany for deletion/Sarkarverse:Topic Y (second nomination), the tag should be configured as follows:

{{mfd-mergeto|Sarkarverse:Topic X|Sarkarverse:Topic Y (second nomination)|27 April 2024|Wikipedia talk:Topic X}}

This will generate the following notice:

Also add the {{mfd-mergefrom}} tag to the top of the destination page's talk page (not the page itself). Use the following format:

{{mfd-mergefrom|nominated page|debate name|debate closure date}}

For example, assume that a debate was closed on 27 April 2024. If the consensus is to merge a page called Topic Y into the page associated with the talk page, and the debate is located at Sarkarverse:Miscellany for deletion/Topic Y (second nomination), the tag should be configured as follows:
