Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tomár tarei kata vyathá
Tumi ki jáno ná balo more
Din áse jáy ásháte háy
Nishá bhásáy áṋkhiniire

Kena besechilum bhálo
Bhálo bese' e ki halo
Keṋde keṋde janam gelo
Man tabu bhulite náre

Dúrákáshe álor rekhá
More jánáy nahi eká
Jege' ácho cira sakhá
Áṋdhár ságareri páre

O Lord, how much pain I am undergoing to attain You.
Do not You know that,? Tell me.
Days come and go in vain hope, alas,
and nights float me in tears.
Why did I love You, and by loving what has happened?
My entire life passed in crying.
Yet my mind does not forget You.
The ray of light in the distant sky conveys to me
that I am never alone.
You are ever-awake, O my ever-companion,
beyond the dark ocean.
