Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Se je ákáshe ságare vane kántáre
Latáy pátáy lukáye ray
Shárada nishiithe shephálii phulete
Gandhe gandhe bhariyá ray

Vishvera rúp jáhára rúpete
Táke ki kakhano bholá jáy
(Bholá) Jay ná jáy ná
Jáy ná jáy ná
Vishvera álo jáhára álote
Tár theke dúre tháká ki jáy
(Tháká) Jáy ná jáy ná
Jáy ná jáy ná
Tár theke dúre tháká jáy ná jáy ná
Táke kabhu dúre rákhá jáy ná jáy ná
Jáy ná jáy ná

Jadi kusuma suvása niye phut́i kona
Nirjana vana tarushákhe
Se je kishalay haye raktimábháte
Cári páshe mor ghire tháke
(Ámi ei) Ghire thákát́ái cái
Dúre náhi jete cái

Se je ákáshe ságare vane kántáre
Latáy pátáy lukáye ray
Prabháta nishiithe sakala phulete
(Se je) Gandhe gandhe bhariyá ray

In sky and ocean, forests and fields,
In creepers and leaves, He remains concealed.
On autumn nights, the jasmine flowers—[nb 2]
He endows their fragrance.

His beauty embellishes the universe—
Can I ever forget Him?
I cannot forget, no I cannot,
I cannot, I cannot.
His light illuminates the universe—
Can I remain far apart?
I cannot stay away, no I cannot,
I cannot, I cannot.
I cannot keep myself away from Him.
I can never keep Him away from me.
I cannot, I cannot.

If a fragrant flower should blossom
On the branch of a tree in a lonely forest,
Its tender green leaves in His crimson glow
Would be enclosed.
I want only that embrace.
I don't want to go away.

In sky and ocean, forests and fields,
In creepers and leaves, He remains concealed.
All flowers, blooming morning to night—
He endows their fragrance.
