Tumi jáno prabhu ámáre
Brhat tomáy káche ná t́áni
Baŕa kare jái nijere

Ámár jiivan siimá diye gherá
Átma parer vibhede bhará
Tava saḿsár avárita dvár
Argal thákite ná páre

Báre báre ámi ási jái hethá
Vyakta karite nijeri kathá
Ananta káje nirata theke
Balo ná sabi je jáo kare

আমি তোমায় নাহি জানি
তুমি জানো প্রভু আমারে
বৃহৎ তোমায় কাছে না টানি
বড় করে' যাই নিজেরে

আমার জীবন সীমা দিয়ে ঘেরা
আত্ম-পরের বিভেদ ভরা
তব সংসারে অবারিত দ্বার
অর্গল থাকিতে না পারে

বারে বারে আমি আসি যাই হেথা
ব্যক্ত করিতে নিজেরই কথা
অনন্ত কাজে নিরত থেকে'
বলো না সবই যে যাও করে

O Lord, I do not know You,
but You know me.
O Great, I never pulled You close,
rather I went on making myself big.
My life is bounded by limitations,
full of the distinction of own and others.
In the unbarred door of Your arena,
no closing bolt can be used.
I come here again and again,
expressing my own affairs.
Busy in endless jobs;
tell me all that You do.
