- ^ Madhumás (sweet month) is a nickname for Chaitra. In the Bengali calendar, the last two months of the year are Phalgun and Chaitra (the 11th and 12th months respectively). They run from approximately mid-February to mid-April. Of the six seasons recognized in India, these are the two months of spring.
