O lord,
On a boisterous morn, why be still;
why do you remain silent
Won't You speak Your mind to me?
amidst the sounds of this morning?
One who gave to You his everything,
Share with me your feelings.
Why keep aloof even from him?

Why do you keep yourself aloof from me?
On the blue sky of a moonlit night
I have offered my everything to you.
I've diffused the nectar of my life;
And with the gloom of a new moon,
That pitch-black too I have assumed.
Transcending blame and accolade,
In Your melody was the tune I made.

I have poured out the nectar of my life
You are the smile upon my bloom...
into the dark blue sky of this moonlit night;
On happy days, a charming flute,
On the night of the dark moon
On troubled nights, a fete of lights.
I become covered in shadow.
Everything of mine You circumscribe.

Beyond praise and eulogy,
I set my tune to your melody.

You are the smile of my flowers
and the enchanting flute of delightful days.
You are a festival of light
uplifting sorrowful nights.
My everything is enwrapped by you.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Mukhar práte niirav kena
Maner kathá kao ná more
Je tomáre sabi dilo
Táreo kena rákho dúre

Jyotsná ráte niilákáshe
Práńer sudhá d́hele diyechi
Krśńá tithir andhakáre
Nikaś kálo haye giyechi
Nindá stutir úrdhve giye
Miliyechi sur tomár sure

Tumi ámár phuler hási
Sukher diner mohan báṋshii
Duhkher nisháy diipávalii
Sab kichu mor tomáy ghire

On a boisterous morn, why be still;
Won't You speak Your mind to me?
One who gave to You his everything,
Why keep aloof even from him?

On the blue sky of a moonlit night
I've diffused the nectar of my life;
And with the gloom of a new moon,
That pitch-black too I have assumed.
Transcending blame and accolade,
In Your melody was the tune I made.

You are the smile upon my bloom...
On happy days, a charming flute,
On troubled nights, a fete of lights.
Everything of mine You circumscribe.
