In the grueling heat of the sun,
In the summer's sweltering heat,
The jasmine, the white creeper,
And the soothing breeze,
Bring at least some cooling freshness.
But the mind wants still more coolness,
In the scorching heat of summer.
The mango branches are laden with fruits.
The blackberries hang low on the branches.
This terrible heat we can no longer endure.
Mind broods on the summer's scorching heat.
The fragrance of flowers in the cool night breeze
Brings some relief,
But the mind craves more
In the scorching heat of summer.
All the countless torments of countless lives
Have combined in summer,
Mentally, we constantly beseech,
"Oh awesome Lord, please send rain."
In the scorching heat of summer.
