Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Arańye girishire khunje khunje tomáre
Din cale jáy sandhyá ghanáy
Sáŕá náhi dile kathá náhi shunile
Keman hrday bijhá náhi jáy

Kusume khunjechi madhute khunjechi
Parágera prati reńu reńu májhe khunjechi
Kon khane páini dharite párini
Tumi ese boloni ácho kotháy

Tiirthe tiirthe kata bhramań karechi
Kata hrd nadii ságarete snána karechi
Kono avagáhane shánti pái ni mane
Atripta hiyá shudhu ánkhi jharáy

Avasheśe bujhechi mano májhe peyechi
Maner randhre tava jyoti kańá dekhechi
Maneri májháre páoá jáy tomáre
Shuddha mane tava álo jhalakáy

I searched for you in the forest
and on the peak of the mountain.
Evening comes and my days pass by.

You did not respond nor did you listen to my feelings.
I cannot understand what sort of heart you have.

I searched for you in flowers,
in nectar and in every pollen of grain.
I could not find you
nor did you appear to me.
Please tell me where you are.

How many places of pilgrimages have i visited?
How many rivers and oceans have i taken holy dips in,
searching you?
In none of these places could i find peace of mind.
My thirsty heart keeps shedding tears.

Finally i understood and found you within my mind.
In a small corner of my mind
I have seen the spark of your divine light.

It is through a pure mind that your effulgence shines.
