Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tomár ámár priitir e hár
Ke geṋthechilo tumi ná ámi (balo)
Ámi chilum dhúlir dharáy
Mát́ir pare mát́ir pradiip dhare
Sakál sáṋjhe priya tomáy nami

Mor háte chilo málatiimálá
Práńer parág-mákhá madhu d́hálá
Tomár kańt́he vaejayanti málá
Kaostubher dyutite ele námi

Ámár ámike dilum máláy tule
Kśudratár sakal siimáná bhule
Sarva sattá mor ut́hlo dule
Bhávke nile bhávátiite tumi

O Lord, this garland of love between You and me,
tell me, who has threaded, You or me?
I was on the dusty earth,
lying in mud holding earthen lamp,
saluting You mornings and evenings.
In my hands was the garland of malatii flowers,
smeared with the lively fragrance and honey.
In Your neck was garland of vaejayantii flowers,
and emanating the brilliance of kaostubha diamond,
You came down. I am offering my own self, “I”,
lifting the garland, forgetting all limitations
of smallness, my whole existence started shaking,
when You took the feeling, O the entity beyond thoughts.
