During a night illuminated by the full moon
Like full moon, resplendent
He was with me.
He had attended
With love and devotion inside floral pollen
Coated with mind's sweetness on a honeyed wind.

He was with me
Full-moon night has gone, and darkness has descended;
like the pollen of flowers,
Under a scorching heat, the floral dust has withered.
drifting with love and beauty,
Lines of colored [[:wikipedia:Kumkuma|phaag]] that on cheeks were etched,
in the sweet breeze of my mind.
They have been consumed by the days past.

The moonlit night has disappeared,
Deprived of exquisite beauty and crushed by neglect,
and darkness came down on me.
Like a blade of grass I've collapsed at His foot's edge.

When will my Love gaze at me smilingly
The pollen of flowers dried up
To remove all of mind's gloominess?
due to the heat of forest fires.

The colourful sketch of the colour festival
that had imprinted its mark on my cheeks,
vanished into the past.

Deprived of its beauty,
and due to ongoing negligence,
I am fallen,
like blade of grass under his feet.

When will that most beloved of mine
look at me with a smile,
casting aside all my mental dirt?

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Álojhalamal púrńimáte
Se chilo sáthe
Phuler paráge ráge anuráge
Maner mádhurii mákhá madhu váte

Ráká ráti cale geche áṋdhár neve eseche
Phuler parág dávadáhe shukáyeche
Ráger pháger rekhá já kapole chilo áṋká
Grasta hayeche atiite

Vaiṋcita suśamár mathita avahelár
Trńa sama paŕe áchi carańapránte tár
Kabe priya se tákábe hese
Maner sakal malinatá saráte

Like full moon, resplendent
He had attended
With love and devotion inside floral pollen
Coated with mind's sweetness on a honeyed wind.

Full-moon night has gone, and darkness has descended;
Under a scorching heat, the floral dust has withered.
Lines of colored phaag that on cheeks were etched,
They have been consumed by the days past.

Deprived of exquisite beauty and crushed by neglect,
Like a blade of grass I've collapsed at His foot's edge.
When will my Love gaze at me smilingly
To remove all of mind's gloominess?
