Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ámi tomáy bhálabási tomáke cái
Tomár káche kichu náhi cái
Ákáshe ságare vishvacarácare
Tomár dvitiiya khuṋje náhi pái

Diyecha álo diyecha vátás
Dile anna jal diyecha ábás[nb 2]
Jáhá cáhi nái táháo diyecha
Kárpańya kona kara nái (tumi)

Ácha anale anile jiivanbhitti tale
Buddhi bodhi mánavatár vediimúle
Ańu bá brhat kabhu háráy ná keha prabhu
Tomári carańe sakaleri t́háṋi

O lord,
I love you.
I want only you,
and from you,
I do not want anything.

In the whole of world,
sky and and ocean,
I could not find your equivalent.

You gave light and air,
food and water.
You gave shelter.

Whatever i did not want,
that too,
You liberally bestowed on me,
without leaving scope for misery to arise.

You are present in both air and fire.
You are the very basis of life.
You are in intellect and in intuition.
You are the root of humanity.

The very small and the great...
none is lost,
for, all have a place at your feet.

Notes

  1. ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
  2. ^ In the audio rendition, ábás (abode) is incorrectly sung as súbás (fragrance).
