- ^ This is apparently a reference to Shiva, who is credited by Sarkar with inventing the veena.[3]
- ^ These three lines seem to be about the advent of Taraka Brahma. When He appears in physical form, He polarizes the world, ending slumber and bringing progressive change.
- ^ This might be a reference to Krsna, who is often portrayed as playing a flute. But, if so, then presumably it would be Shiva as Krsna.
