The crimson light of the morning sun
Through bay window light of morning's sun,
enters through the balcony into my dark house.
It has penetrated the dark room.
Now gloom's goblin, it has gone, far removed,
With the impact of crystal effulgence.

With the impact of brilliant light,
Over course of ages had accrued every filth,
the ghost of darkness went far away.
Ebony that in darkness only had amassed,
Impervious in that very pit so black;
And nowhere to be seen was conscience.

Due to agonies,
In darkness, creatures had been penned to nest,
accumulated ages after ages,
And their mental progress was suppressed.
in the condensed blackness of darkness,
Heaven's splendor, life's momentum,
in the openingless deep dark well,
Is a grievous thunderbolt to that obstacle.
no discrimination was to be observed.

In this darkness,
living beings were bound
and the progress of minds became obstructed.

I cried out due to heavy obstruction,
me longing for a fast entry of heavenly effulgence
into my life.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Aruńer álo gavákśapathe
D́hukeche áṋdhár gharete
Tamasár pret dúre sare geche
Svaccha álor ágháte

Juge juge jata gláni jamechilo
Kálotei kálo jaŕa hayechilo
Niirandhra sei andhakupete
Vivek chilo ná dekhite

Áṋdháre jiiv básá beṋdhechilo
Maner pragati ruddha je chilo
Alakár dyuti jiivaner druti
Káṋdita vajra bádháte

Through bay window light of morning's sun,
It has penetrated the dark room.
Now gloom's goblin, it has gone, far removed,
With the impact of crystal effulgence.

Over course of ages had accrued every filth,
Ebony that in darkness only had amassed,
Impervious in that very pit so black;
And nowhere to be seen was conscience.

In darkness, creatures had been penned to nest,
And their mental progress was suppressed.
Heaven's splendor, life's momentum,
Is a grievous thunderbolt to that obstacle.
