Ásibe bale kena ná ele
Sandhyá ghanáy din cale je jáy
Tomár tare rákhá phul je shukáy
Jatane gáṋthá málá káṋde dhúláy

Úśár uday mane chilo je áshá
Ásibe tumi ket́e jábe niráshá
Múk haye gelo ucchala bháśá
Pratiikśá mishe gelo ghana kuyásháy

E káj karo ná priya ár kakhano
Kathá diye kathá bheuṋgo ná kona
Je hiyá pratiikśáy pal guniyá jáy
Táro kathá bhevo alasa beláy

আসিবে বলে’ কেন না এলে
সন্ধ্যা ঘনায় দিন চলে’ যে যায়
তোমার তরে রাখা ফুল যে শুকায়
যতনে গাঁথা মালা কাঁদে ধূলায়

ঊষার উদয় মনে ছিল যে আশা
আসিবে তুমি কেটে’ যাবে নিরাশা
মূক হয়ে গেল উচ্ছল ভাষা
প্রতীক্ষা মিশে’ গেল ঘন কুয়াশায়

এ কাজ করো না প্রিয় আর কখনো
কথা দিয়ে কথা ভেঙ্গো না কোন
যে হিয়া প্রতীক্ষায় পল গুনিয়া যায়
তারও কথা ভেবো অলস বেলায়

O lord, you told that you would come,
but why did not you come,
the evening is intensifying
and day is passing.
the flowers kept for you
is getting dried up.
the carefully threaded garland
cries in the dust.
since morning there was hope in the mind
that you would come
and all hopelessness will pass over.
the vibrant language became dumb;
My waiting for you got mixed in dense fog.
o dear, this work you never do any more,
after giving words do not break them.
the heart that keeps on counting moments
waiting for you,
about them also please think
during your leisure hours.
