Kata nishi jágiyáchi kata phul tuliyáchi
Kare tháki sadá tava dhyán

Niirasa hrday mor tava náme bhijiyáche
Asár paráń mor tava bháve bhariyáche
Caiṋcala hiyá mor tomátei sthita áche
Darshane mátiyáche práń

Káchákáchi ásiyácha páshe náhi basiyácha
Madhur adhare tava kathá náhi kahiyácha
Náhi ki priitir kona t́án

বলে’ যাও মোর ‘পরে কেন অভিমান
কত নিশি জাগিয়াছি কত ফুল তুলিয়াছি
করে’ থাকি সদা তব ধ্যান

নীরস হৃদয় মোর তব নামে ভিজিয়াছে
অসার পরাণ মোর তব ভাবে ভরিয়াছে
চঞ্চল হিয়া মোর তোমাতেই স্থিত আছে
দর্শনে মাতিয়াছে প্রাণ

কাছাকাছি আসিয়াছ পাশে নাহি বসিয়াছ
মধুর অধরে তব কথা নাহি কহিয়াছ
নাহি কি প্রীতির কোন টান

O lord,
why are you displeased with me?

How many nights have i kept awake?
How many flowers have i collected,
constantly meditating on you?

My dry heart is moistened with your name.
My valueless life is full of your ideation.
My restless heart locates itself within you.

I am mad for your vision.
You do come close
but do not stay nearby.
You do not speak with sweet lips.
Is there no attractive force of love in me?
