Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Base base kál guńe jái
Kata din guńe jábo
Kata kál balo ebháve thákibo
Patha páne ceye rabo

Ei tárá phot́e suniil ákáshe
Ei d́heke jáy ghana megh áse
Ei tava khelá akaruńa liilá
Ár kata kál dekhibo

Snigdha madhur malay vátáse
Kálbaeshákhii grásite je áse
Sharatshubhra meghe kushe káshe
Himel hemanta je náshe
Thákite ná cáo
Ese bale jáo
Kii bháve tomáy pábo

O lord,
sitting and sitting i keep counting time.

How long will this have to continue?
How long shall i wait,
looking at the path of your arrival?

The star appearing in the blue sky
becomes covered when clouds come.

This game of yours,
this merciless sport -
how much longer shall i have to witness?

Annihilating heat devours the soft and sweet sandal breeze.
The white swiftly-flowing pre-winter clouds,
are destroyed by the snowy winter.

If you do not want it to stay this way,
come and tell then how i may attain you.
