O lord,
To me You are showing fondness...
You love me.
Merit You did not examine; You sat not in judgment;
You've observed with undeserved compassion.

You do not see nor consider
Moon casts its light upon each worthy or unworthy head;
deserving qualifications,
In every liquid lingers [[:wikipedia:Camphor|camphor]] scent.
You look upon all with your causeless mercy.
The southern wind caresses even [[:wikipedia:Pangolin|pangolin]];
How can anyone not gaze in that direction?

The moon pours its light on all heads,
I was thinking that no one is loving me...
irrespective of good or bad.
Weeping I am coming, and weeping I will leave in anguish–
The camphor makes all waters fragrant.
For me there is just misery;
The sandal touches even hard insects,
On earth's bosom it is writ.
even those who do not look its side.
Today I understood: I am not alone or helpless.

I assumed no one loves me.
I came crying
and will go painfully.
For me only pain is destined on the earth.
Today, i understood i am not helpless.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Bhálabásiyácho ámáy (tumi)
Guńáguń dekha ni vicár kara ni
Dekhecha ahetukii karuńáy

Jyotsná d́hále vidhu sadasad sab shire
Karpúra surabhita kare tháke sab niire
Malay parash dey vajrakiit́ero pare
Ke keman sedike ná tákáy

Bhávitám keha náhi bhálabáse ámáke
Káṋdiyá ásiyáchi káṋdiyá jába duhkhe
Mor tare shudhu vyathá
Lekhá áche dhará buke
Áj bujhilám nahi asaháy

To me You are showing fondness...
Merit You did not examine; You sat not in judgment;
You've observed with undeserved compassion.

Moon casts its light upon each worthy or unworthy head;
In every liquid lingers camphor scent.
The southern wind caresses even pangolin;
How can anyone not gaze in that direction?

I was thinking that no one is loving me...
Weeping I am coming, and weeping I will leave in anguish–
For me there is just misery;
On earth's bosom it is writ.
Today I understood: I am not alone or helpless.
