on my eyes,
No more shall I be alone.
all wants and loneliness were removed.

I traveled alone,
On dark nights I've walked, solitary;
crying in dark nights,
Many a path I've crossed in tears.
wandering to and fro
I could not imagine that moving with me
from path to path.
Were Your relentless chariot wheels.

I could not imagine
The kohl, You Yourself applied it;
that along with me
And into my heart You poured devotion.
the untiring wheel
In dark and dire straits, You showed the way;
of your cart was also moving.
Coated with love was the touch You gave.

With your own hand
You applied ainjan (collyrium)
and poured love into my heart.

You showed the path
in unending darkness
and bestowed upon me
a touch of love.

Bhaver ainjan ankiya ankhite is the 607th song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Bháver aiṋjan áṋkiyá áṋkhite
Abháve karechi dúr sakhá
Ár kabhu nai ámi eká

Áṋdhár nishiithe eklá calechi
Kata pathe pathe keṋde kát́ayechi
Bhávite párini mor sáthe cale
Tava aklánta rathacáká

Aiṋjan nije áṋkiyá diyecho
Práń d́hálá bhálabásá je bharecho
Akúla timire path dekháyecho
Parash diyecho priitimákhá

Tracing on my eyes perception's kohl,
All wants I have banished, oh Alter Ego.[nb 2]
No more shall I be alone.

On dark nights I've walked, solitary;
Many a path I've crossed in tears.
I could not imagine that moving with me
Were Your relentless chariot wheels.

The kohl, You Yourself applied it;
And into my heart You poured devotion.
In dark and dire straits, You showed the way;
Coated with love was the touch You gave.

Notes

  1. ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
  2. ^ According to Sarkar: In the case of sakhá, the position is that there are two physical bodies, but the mental body is the same because there is so much love. Such people are called sakhá. So nobody other than Parama Puruśa can be sakhá. Krśńa was the sakhá of Arjuna.[3]
