Jadi tava padadhvani shuni

Koraker madhu shukáiyá geche
Phuler pápŕi jhariyá paŕeche
Vyathá niśikta ághátakliśt́a
Hrdaye áshár jál buni

Marmer bháśá kena bujhile ná
Kathá diye kena kathá rákhile ná
Geye tava jay je bá beṋce ray
Táre kena náhi nile t́áni

হেসে' বলেছিলে আসবে আবার
তারই ভরসায় পল গুণি (আমি)
দিনে রাতে শুধু কান পেতে থাকি
যদি তব পদধ্বনি শুনি

কোরকের মধু শুকাইয়া গেছে
ফুলের পাপড়ি ঝরিয়া পড়েছে
ব্যথা-নিষিক্ত আঘাতক্লিষ্ট
হৃদয়ে আশার জাল বুনি

মর্মের ভাষা কেন বুঝিলে না
কথা দিয়ে কেন কথা রাখিলে না
গেয়ে তব জয় যে বা বেঁচে' রয়
তারে কেন নাহি নিলে টানি'
