O lord, in which unknown arena
For a long while You'd been in some unknown realm;
you have been for such a long time,
Today, in the known world You have arrived.
today You came into the known world.
You had been the moon of a remote firmament;
you were moon of the distant sky,
Today, You have risen amid the mind.
today you appeared within the mind.

in the areas of several towns and pilgrim places,
To many human habitations around holy places,
i have wandered with the hope of your vision.
I've been roaming about in hope of observation.
But my desire was not fulfilled,
Wish was not accomplished, not a glimpse did You give;
you were not seen. you continued
Staying afar, You have simply smiled.
smiling staying away. i understood

the essence of reality is your mercy.
I understood the essence is Your compassion only;
there is no path other than that to attain you.
For getting You another path just is not there.
hence the skill and intellect accept defeat,
So learning and intellect accept defeat;
you make it known.
This fact You have made me realize.

Kon ajanay chile bahukal is the 2700th song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Kon ajánáy chile bahukál
Áj jánár jagate esecho
Tumi dúr ákásher chile cáṋd
Áj maner májháre bhesecho

Kata janapade tiirtha sakáshe
Ghure beŕiyechi darshana áshe
Icchá met́eni dekháo dáoni
Dúre theke shudhu hesecho

Bujhilám sár tava karuńái
Tomáke pávár ár path nái
Vidyábuddhi hár máne tái
Ekathá bujhiye diyecho

For a long while You'd been in some unknown realm;
Today, in the known world You have arrived.
You had been the moon of a remote firmament;
Today, You have risen amid the mind.

To many human habitations around holy places,
I've been roaming about in hope of observation.
Wish was not accomplished, not a glimpse did You give;
Staying afar, You have simply smiled.

I understood the essence is Your compassion only;
For getting You another path just is not there.
So learning and intellect accept defeat;
This fact You have made me realize.
