O lord,
With sweetness-coated eyes,
with sweetness smeared eyes,
Why did You peer into the mind?
why did you peep into my mind?
Full of munificent affection,

Into mouth You poured ambrosia.
Full of heavenly love,
You poured nectar on my face.

The one whom i wanted in my meditation,
the moon i wanted to illustrate in my mind,
the essence of it all,
today came into my fold.

There is no waning or waxing in this moon.
What I've yearned for in my meditation,
It is ever full of its sixteen components.
That moon I have etched upon my spirit,
Presently, that same entity's very essence...
Come in person, You submitted.

The one whom i wanted in the realm of ideation,
Of this moon there is no wane-or-waxing;
in the full illumination of moonlight,
It's completely full,{{#tag:ref|Here the Bangla employs an idiom based on old astronomy that classified the fullness of the moon in terms of 16 ''digits'', 16 being the fullest.|group="nb"}} continually.
under the soft breeze
I find it in the thought-realm only,
came today.
With moonlight replete on gentle breeze.

Madhurima makha nayane is the 1358th song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Madhurimá mákhá nayane
Manete kena tákále
Alakári priiti bhará
Ánane sudhá d́hele dile

Dhyánete járe ceyechi
Je vidhu citte eṋkechi
Tári sárátsár je áji
Nije ese dhará dile

Hrás bá vriddhi e vidhur nái
Śola kalá púrńa sadái
Bháválokei táre je pái
Púrńa jyotsnáy mandánile

With sweetness-coated eyes,
Why did You peer into the mind?
Full of munificent affection,
Into mouth You poured ambrosia.

What I've yearned for in my meditation,
That moon I have etched upon my spirit,
Presently, that same entity's very essence...
Come in person, You submitted.

Of this moon there is no wane-or-waxing;
It's completely full,[nb 2] continually.
I find it in the thought-realm only,
With moonlight replete on gentle breeze.

Notes

  1. ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
  2. ^ Here the Bangla employs an idiom based on old astronomy that classified the fullness of the moon in terms of 16 digits, 16 being the fullest.
