Then I would open up alone.
Then I would open up alone.

In a crowd, whatever i sing
In public, anything I sing,
is not of my innermost heart.
It is not my secret thought.

In private, what gets sung,
In seclusion
Just the two of us will hear.
only we two
listen to what is expressed.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Maner vyathá mani jáne
Cápá áche gopane
Geye jadi shońáte cái
Shońábo tá vijane

Sabhá májhe já kichu gái
Maner kathá táháte nái
Ekánte tá jáy go gáoyá
Shuńibo tá dújane

Hiyár bháśá pashe hiyáy
Báhire tá shońá ná jáy
Tumi ácho ámi áchi
Ár keha nái bhuvane

Mind's pain only mind knows;
Confidential, it's concealed.
Should that I want to sing,
Then I would open up alone.

In public, anything I sing,
It is not my secret thought.
In private, what gets sung,
Just the two of us will hear.

The language of the heart is conveyed
to a heart alone,
it is not audible from without.
You exist and i exist;
there is no one else in this world.
