And why, deposited in forest, is he residing?

Why has this happened this way?
Why is he hiding within my mind?

Manete ceye dekhi ke jena áche base
Vanete giye dekhi se jani mrdu háse
Kena emant́i hala

Manete lukiye kena se áche
Vanete nihita kena bá rayeche
Maner kathá more balo

মনেতে ভোমরা কেন বা এল
কোথায় আবার উড়ে’ গেল
বনেতে পাপিয়া কেন বা গাইল
কার আহ্বানে সাড়া দিল

মনেতে চেয়ে দেখি কে যেন আছে বসে’
বনেতে গিয়ে দেখি সে জনই মৃদু হাসে
কেন এমনটি হ’ল

মনেতে লুকিয়ে কেন সে আছে
বনেতে নিহিত কেন বা রয়েছে
মনের কথা মোরে বলো
