O lord,
On silent night, to obliterate the pain,
in the silent night,
Who are You that came for me, please say?
making me forget all my pains,
With a detached wind, the One mind craves,
who are you who came to me?
He appeared in my home today!
Tell me.

In this indifferent and calm wind,
Grass blades want painting in green,
has the one whom the mind desires,
The large tree wants a gentle breeze.
come to my home today?
To scent the flower pollen speaks:
"That is what I also fancy."

The sprouts of grass want greenness.
The pebble mentions constantly:
The big tree wants sandal breeze.
"He should walk on top of me."
The pollen in flowers tell to the fragrance,
The snow-capped mountain, it would be
that they too want it.
Thawed beneath His love only.

In the lotus grove, full of humming,
The stone pieces on the road say
The bumblebee prays secretly:
they want to be constantly trampled upon by him.
"Lord, my ray of hope You be;
The snow peaked mountains
Please arrive with golden morning."
desire to melt under his love.

The buzzing bees in the lotus grove,
secretly beg:
"you are the ray of our hope.
Come on this golden morning."

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Niirava ráte klesh bholáte
Ke go ele tumi mor tare (balo)
Udásii haoyáy man járe cáy
Se ki ela áji mor ghare

Trńer áṋkur sabuje cáy
Mahiiruha malaya váy
Phuler parág gandhe bale
Ámio cái táre

Upal bale prati pale
Ámáy se ják dale
Tuśárkiriit́ giri je jáy
Táṋr priititei gale
Guiṋjarita kamal vane
Bhramar jáce sauṋgopane
Tumi ámár áshár álo
Eso sońálii bhore

On silent night, to obliterate the pain,
Who are You that came for me, please say?
With a detached wind, the One mind craves,
He appeared in my home today!

Grass blades want painting in green,
The large tree wants a gentle breeze.
To scent the flower pollen speaks:
"That is what I also fancy."

The pebble mentions constantly:
"He should walk on top of me."
The snow-capped mountain, it would be
Thawed beneath His love only.
In the lotus grove, full of humming,
The bumblebee prays secretly:
"Lord, my ray of hope You be;
Please arrive with golden morning."
