Today,
Now, the light of novelty has come;
new light came
The black fog has met with naught.
and the dark fog dissolved.
The universe, brimming with life's passion,
Has assumed invincible momentum.

An unbound life filled the world
We will brook no obstruction, nowhere will we pause;
with irresistible speed.
We will never be subdued, fearing scowls from anyone.
On this day we'll move ahead;
Flood tide has been awakened.

I will not heed to any obstacle,
Only moving on, that we've known to be life;
nowhere will i stop.
Looking behind, it but calls to death, we've realized.

Dropping luster on the lids of our eyes,
I will not be suppressed
Shattering the slumber, Who has arrived!
in fear of threatening gestures.

I shall move ahead
in the tide that today came about.

I know that forward movement is life.
And that staying behind calls for death,
I have also understood.

Striking light into my eyes,
to break my slumber,
who is that who came?

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Nútaneri álo eseche (áji)
Kálo kuyáshá shúnye mishe geche
Bhuvana bhariyá práńer ucchalatá
Durnivár gati eneche

Kona bádhá mániba ná konakháne thámiba ná
Káro bhrúkut́ite bhay peye kabhu damiba ná
Egiye cale jába áji
Joyár jegeche

Egiye calái jiivan tá jene gechi
Piche táká marańke d́áká táo bujhe gechi
Moder áṋkhipáte álokera sampáte
Ghum bháuṋgiye ke eseche

Now, the light of novelty has come;
The black fog has met with naught.
The universe, brimming with life's passion,
Has assumed invincible momentum.

We will brook no obstruction, nowhere will we pause;
We will never be subdued, fearing scowls from anyone.
On this day we'll move ahead;
Flood tide has been awakened.

Only moving on, that we've known to be life;
Looking behind, it but calls to death, we've realized.
Dropping luster on the lids of our eyes,
Shattering the slumber, Who has arrived!
