Why does spring keep crying?
Spring, why does it go out crying?
It continues calling only me.
It just keeps calling me,
This unknown air of an unknown land,
And I cannot bear it...
I cannot tolerate.
On unfamiliar wind from a land exotic,
Weeping, weeping, calling me,
From far shore of hundred seas.

It keeps crying and calling me,
So many days, they come and leave...
from beyond hundreds of seas.
Alas, Lord, there's no end to that calling.
Many a days, dates and times
Sitting all alone, I consider inwardly:
came and went by.
In what manner do I make it cease?

That call, o lord,
has not stopped.
Sitting in solitude,
I think to myself,
how on earth can it be stopped?

Phagun kena kende cale jay is the 1447th song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Phágun kena keṋde cale jáy
D́eke jáy shudhu ámáre
Ámi sahite pári ná táháre
Acená vátáse ajáná videshe
Keṋde keṋde d́áke ámáre
Shata sindhura parapáre

Din kál tithi kata áse jáy
Se d́ákár prabhu sheś náhi háy
Basiyá vijane bhávi mane mane
Kii bháve thámái táháre

Spring, why does it go out crying?
It just keeps calling me,
And I cannot bear it...
On unfamiliar wind from a land exotic,
Weeping, weeping, calling me,
From far shore of hundred seas.

So many days, they come and leave...
Alas, Lord, there's no end to that calling.
Sitting all alone, I consider inwardly:
In what manner do I make it cease?
