O lord,
Lord, to me so much You gave;
You gave me so much
You claimed nothing in exchange.
and yet, you never wanted anything in return.

In the intense heat of summer,
In summer season's severe heat,
You provided to me the shade of trees.
Space You gave neath shade of tree.
In desert thirst, with the mirage
Soothing water You discharged.

You rained soothing water
Disrespected and disdained,
on the mirage of my dry desert.
My time has passed in sorrow's flame.
You lifted me onto love's lap;
Of songs You strung a garland.

My time used to pass by
With ignorance and static notions,
in the flame of miseries,
Truth was hidden by a mist.
that arose in humiliation and disregard.
That same fog You cast aside;

You brought me to the path of light.
You lifted me onto your lap
and decorated me with a floral garland of songs.

The truth lay hidden
under storms of ignorance and dogmas.
You removed that fog
and brought me onto the path of light.

Prabhu tumi amay kata kii je dile is the 1388th song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Prabhu tumi ámáy kata kii je dile
Vinimaye kona kichui náhi cáhile

Griiśma rtur kharatápe
T́háṋi dile taruccháyáte
Marutrśáy mariicikáy
Snigdha vári d́hálle

Anádare avaheláy
Kál ket́eche duhkhajváláy
Priitir kole tule ámáy
Giitir málá gáṋthle

Ajiṋatá ár bhávjaŕatáy
Satya chilo kujjhat́ikáy
Sei kuhelii sariye diye
Álor pathe ánle

Lord, to me so much You gave;
You claimed nothing in exchange.

In summer season's severe heat,
Space You gave neath shade of tree.
In desert thirst, with the mirage
Soothing water You discharged.

Disrespected and disdained,
My time has passed in sorrow's flame.
You lifted me onto love's lap;
Of songs You strung a garland.

With ignorance and static notions,
Truth was hidden by a mist.
That same fog You cast aside;
You brought me to the path of light.
