Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Prabhu tumi ámáy kata kii je dile
Vinimaye kona kichui náhi cáhile

Griiśma rtur kharatápe
T́háṋi dile taruccháyáte
Marutrśáy mariicikáy
Snigdha vári d́hálle

Anádare avaheláy
Kál ket́eche duhkhajváláy
Priitir kole tule ámáy
Giitir málá gáṋthle

Ajiṋatá ár bhávjaŕatáy
Satya chilo kujjhat́ikáy
Sei kuhelii sariye diye
Álor pathe ánle

O lord,
You gave me so much
and yet, you never wanted anything in return.

In the intense heat of summer,
You provided to me the shade of trees.

You rained soothing water
on the mirage of my dry desert.

My time used to pass by
in the flame of miseries,
that arose in humiliation and disregard.

You lifted me onto your lap
and decorated me with a floral garland of songs.

The truth lay hidden
under storms of ignorance and dogmas.
You removed that fog
and brought me onto the path of light.
