Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tandrá jaŕimá chilo áṋkhipáte
Dharańii sikta chilo vrśt́ipáte
Tumi esechile álo áṋdhárite
Viphal jiivane trpti bharite

Se diner sei kathá ájo bhuli nái
Jiivaner itiháse se tulaná nái
Tumi ele dhiire cale gele dúre
Rekhe gele smrtirekhá se madhu ráte

Kata jug cale geche bhuliyá gechi
Vasanta sharat mane ná rekhechi
Mane áche shudhu sei ekt́i kathá
Tomáre peyechinu ámári sáthe

On eyelids was drowsiness-fatigue;
Earth was drenched with rain falling.
You had come, light in the darkness,
To cram satisfaction into ineffectual existence.

Even now I can't forget the story of that day;
In my life's history, nothing does compare.
At an easy pace You came, then went far aside;
You left memory's line behind on that honeyed night.

How many ages have gone by, I have forgotten;
I have not retained all the springs and autumns.
In my mind is just that one and same story:
I had gained You in my company exclusively.
