O Lord,
For Your sake, night and day,
for you only, day and night,
My eyes are spilling,
tears flow from my eyes.
Ever filling, never soothed...
Unconsoled, what can I do?

They do not follow reasoning.
With rainclouds, the peacock dances
What am i to do?
In the midst of lightning flashes.
But though near to my dark heart
You may be got, feel it I just cannot.

Amidst the raincloud's flashes,
Even sensing that I won't succeed,
peacocks dance.
At a distance this song I'll sing.

From my soul its lyrics I bring
You dwell deep within my dark heart,
In only Your cadence and melody.
and i am unable to hold you.

Not being able to attain him,
I sing my songs to him from a distance.

Taking your rhythm and tune,
I shall bring out the voice of your song
from within the core of my heart.

Tomar lagi nishi din is the 764th song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tomár lági nishi din
Jhare áṋkhi ámári
Bojhái tabu náhi bojhe
Náhi bojhe kii kari

Sajal meghe mayúr náce
Vijaliri jhalak májhe
Kájal kálo hiyár káche
Peyeo pete ná pári

Bojhái táre náhi pábo
Dúre thekei gán shońábo
Giitir váńii marme áni
Chande sure tomári

For Your sake, night and day,
My eyes are spilling,
Ever filling, never soothed...
Unconsoled, what can I do?

With rainclouds, the peacock dances
In the midst of lightning flashes.
But though near to my dark heart
You may be got, feel it I just cannot.

Even sensing that I won't succeed,
At a distance this song I'll sing.
From my soul its lyrics I bring
In only Your cadence and melody.
