O lord,
I go on carrying Your tidings;
I keep on carrying you message,
With Your work I keep myself busy.
ever engaging myself in your work.
My everything is on account of You only;
These are the words well-formed I continue singing.

Whatever belongings i may have
On stellar sky, like mote of dust, I have arrived;
are indeed yours.
On mental sky, hey my Love, Yourself I've acquired.
This fact,
My going and coming, my weeping and laughing;
I keep on singing in perfect tune.
At their root is Your compassion only.

In the great sky,
But for You I don't exist– this fact I perceive;
like a dust particle,
On strings of Your [[:wikipedia:Veena|viina]], a jangle I bring.
I came,
Your [[:wikipedia:Magnolia champaca|champak]]-touch, scope gauged for novelty,
and attained you in the firmament of my mind.
Having felt that, I proclaim my respectful greetings.
O dear lord!

At the root of my coming and going,
of my smiling and crying,
ever remains your mercy.

I know, that without you
my existence will not hold.
I merely produce tinklings
on the strings of your viin'a'.

In experiencing
Your campa' flower-like touch,
I offer my salutation to you.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tomár váratá baye jái
Tava káje nijere lágái
Ámár jáhá kichu tomári tare
E kathá bhálo kare geye jái

Mahákáshe trasareńu sama esechi
Cidákáshe he priya tomáre peyechi
Ámár jáoyá ásá ámár káṋdá hásá
Múle áche tava karuńái

Tumi cháŕá ámi nái ekathá jáni
Tomár viińár táre jhauṋkár áni
Cáṋpár parash tava mápá avakásh nava
Anubhave prańati jánái

I go on carrying Your tidings;
With Your work I keep myself busy.
My everything is on account of You only;
These are the words well-formed I continue singing.

On stellar sky, like mote of dust, I have arrived;
On mental sky, hey my Love, Yourself I've acquired.
My going and coming, my weeping and laughing;
At their root is Your compassion only.

But for You I don't exist– this fact I perceive;
On strings of Your viina, a jangle I bring.
Your champak-touch, scope gauged for novelty,
Having felt that, I proclaim my respectful greetings.
