O lord, by your blessing i go on moving forward,
By only Your blessing I proceed,
holding on to your path. there is nothing that i can
Oh my Lord, having toed Your line.
call my own, so i cannot call even "i" to myself.
To call my own there is nothing,
Intoxicated with pride, i had kept my mind away
Even not the one whom I call "I".

Tomari ashise egiye jai is the 1777th song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tomári áshise egiye jái
Prabhu tava patha dhare
Ámár balite kichu je nái
Táo nay ámi bali járe

Ahauṋkáre matta haye
Man theke rákhi tomáre saráye
Cáhiyá dekhi nija[nb 2] antare
Tumi rayecho ghire

Nijer mahimá nijer garimá
Báŕáte giye táháder siimá
Dhará paŕe jáy nijeri kálimá
Antare báhire

By only Your blessing I proceed,
Oh my Lord, having toed Your line.
To call my own there is nothing,
Even not the one whom I call "I".

Having been drunken with vanity,
Candidly I keep away from Thee.
But looking inside of me, I see
You have been encompassing.

One's own glory, one's own greatness,
On going to exaggerate their extent,
Only personal blemishes get enmeshed,
In both inner and outer realms.

Notes

  1. ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
  2. ^ The Sargam is inconsistent regarding this word. Hence, it could be either nija or hrday. In the audio rendition we hear nija. In the latest Bengali edition[2] hrday is given. Here nija is preferred.
