In winter, why does the lotus never blossom? I weep so bitterly, my cruel lover; Tell me why to my home she won't come. In harshest summer, why is water not combined? In song and dance I invite; eagerly, I look, I bide; Lover, keeping far, it only makes deceit, oh why? why is the palash tree bare of any fruit? Why does that entity for whom i take my birth, for whom i perform all actions, make me shed tears?
