O lord, you have lost the path and come to us.
Having set out on a faulty path, You've appeared.
I do not know rituals, and do not accept pilgrimage.
What to do, I know it not...
You came into fold only by your grace.
A house of God, I respect not...
But, taking pity, You've conceded to me.

By providing greenery to the desert,
To give succulence to an arid wilderness,
blooming flower on dry tree,
To make flowers bloom on a tree that's sapless...
and swinging pearl necklace on bare necks,
To sway upon a throat devoid of ornament...
You smiled. i understand that only you are mine.
Like a string of pearls You have beamed.

Except you, there is none that i can say is mine.
You alone belong to me, only that was I knowing;
Everything that i have is by your causeless grace.
No one else is my own but for Thee...
Still knowingly and deliberately,
All that's mine is by Your mercy...
You showed this ignorance of coming.
So You've erred intentionally;
You have blundered wittingly.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tumi bhul pathe cale esecho
Vidhi jáni ná
Tiirtha máni ná
Krpá kare dhará diyecho

Shuśka marute sarasatá dite
Niiras tarute puśpa phot́áte
Ábharańhiin kańt́he dulite
Mukutár háre hesecho

Bujhtum shudhu tumii ámár
Tumi cháŕá keu nay ápanár
Mor sab kichu krpáte tomár
Tái bheve bhul karecho
Tumi jeneshune bhul karecho

Having set out on a faulty path, You've appeared.
What to do, I know it not...
A house of God, I respect not...
But, taking pity, You've conceded to me.

To give succulence to an arid wilderness,
To make flowers bloom on a tree that's sapless...
To sway upon a throat devoid of ornament...
Like a string of pearls You have beamed.

You alone belong to me, only that was I knowing;
No one else is my own but for Thee...
All that's mine is by Your mercy...
So You've erred intentionally;
You have blundered wittingly.
