You came in my heart and filled it with hope,
You captured this heart, once my heart.
You filled with hope my house of hopelessness.
You filled with hope that heart, once an abode of despair.

That which was covered by darkness,
What was covered in darkness
Became mixed with effulgence.
Is now enveloped with light.
Why then have You bound me
So why do You still bind me
In the periphery of the finite?
With finite identity?

That which was covered by petals,
That which was covered by petals,

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tumi dhará dile ámár e hrdaye
Áshá bhare dile niráshár e nilaye

Já chilo ándháre dháká
Se halo álote mákhá
Tave ekhano bendhecho keno
Sasiimeri paricaye

Já chilo pápr'i dháká
Se madhu priitite mákhá
Tave ekhano kisera vákii
Cetanári vinimaye

You captured this heart, once my heart.
You filled with hope that heart, once an abode of despair.

What was covered in darkness
Is now enveloped with light.
So why do You still bind me
With finite identity?

That which was covered by petals,
That honey was full of love.
Then what else still remains
In this exchange of consciousness?
