What was covered in darkness
What was covered in darkness
Is now enveloped with light.
Is now encompassed by light.
So why do You still bind me
So why do You still bind me
With finite identity?
With finite identity?

That which was covered by petals,
What was covered in petals
That honey was full of love.
Is now encompassed by sweet love.
Then what else still remains
So what part remains unrealized
In this exchange of consciousness?
With this transmutation of consciousness?

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tumi dhará dile
Ámár e hrdaye
Áshá bhare dile
Niráshár e nilaye

Já chilo ándháre dháká
Se halo álote mákhá
Tave ekhano bendhecho keno
Sasiimeri paricaye

Já chilo pápr'i dháká
Se madhu priitite mákhá
Tave ekhano kisera vákii
Cetanári vinimaye

তুমি ধরা দিলে
আমার এ হৃদযে
আশা ভরে দিলে
নিরাশার এ নিলযে

যা ছিলো আঁধারে ঢাকা
সে হলো আলোতে মাখা
তবে এখনো বেন্ধেছো কেনো
সসীমেরি পরিচযে

যা ছিলো পাপড়ি ঢাকা
সে মধু প্রীতিতে মাখা
তবে এখনো কিসের বাকী
চেতনারি বিনিমযে

You captured a heart
That was once my heart.
You filled with hope a heart
That was once an abode of despair.

What was covered in darkness
Is now encompassed by light.
So why do You still bind me
With finite identity?

What was covered in petals
Is now encompassed by sweet love.
So what part remains unrealized
With this transmutation of consciousness?
