O lord!
You have come, You have come
You came into my desertheart.
Into my arid heart.
Any sweetness in my bosom
I'll dedicate unto Your work.

Whatever honey is stored in it,
Not a single flower blossoms
I shall offer it unto the sake of your work.
To adorn those rosy feet.
Not even one fruit grows
To qualify my offering.

Not a single flower bloomed
In my arbor ringed by verdant beauty,
to decorate your red feet.
Nothing is alluring here.
Not a single fruit
With rhythmic song and melodious stream,
grew to decorate my tray.
Or with dancing, never has it been replete.

But still You came near to me.
No green beauty
surrounds the shrubs,
to enchant my mind.

I did not fill my dance
with a rhythmic song
nor a flowing tune.

Yet, you nevertheless came close to me.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tumi esecho tumi esecho
Maru hiyár májhe (ámár)
Já kichu mor buker madhu
Doba tomár káje

Phot́e niko ekt́io phul
Sájáte oi carań rátul
Ekt́io phal phaleni to
Dite arghya sáje

Kuiṋje gherá shyámal shobhá
Neiko hetháy manolobhá
Chande giite sure srote
Bharái niko náce
Tabu ele ámár káche

You have come, You have come
Into my arid heart.
Any sweetness in my bosom
I'll dedicate unto Your work.

Not a single flower blossoms
To adorn those rosy feet.
Not even one fruit grows
To qualify my offering.

In my arbor ringed by verdant beauty,
Nothing is alluring here.
With rhythmic song and melodious stream,
Or with dancing, never has it been replete.
But still You came near to me.
