Vanke jábár kále eli go
Tui eli ámár calár pathe
Shauṋkhaciler mata humŕe paŕe go
Dhare nili ámár háte

Ámár khoṋpár málá takhan gela khúle
Kadam phuler d́álá chit́ke dile
Tui balá nái kaoyá nái kena eli
Ámár jáná cená kulite path dekháte

Tor surer máyájále man majeche
Tor nácer chande tále man meteche
Tui eman bháve bháv karis kena
Ámi cái nái toke tabu eli bhuláte

বিহান কালে তালে তালে
বনকে যাবার কালে এলি গো
তুই এলি আমার চলার পথে
শঙ্খচিলের মত হুমড়ে পড়ে গো
ধরে নিলি আমার হাতে

আমার খোঁপার মালা তখন গেল খুলে
কদম ফুলের ডালা ছিটকে দিলে
তুই বলা নাই কওয়া নাই কেন এলি
আমার জানা চেনা কুলিতে পথ দেখাতে

তোর সুরের মায়াজালে মন মজেছে
তোর নাচের ছন্দে তালে মন মেতেছে
তুই এমন ভাবে ভাব করিস কেন
আমি চাই নাই তোকে তবু এলি ভুলাতে

In harmony with the morning,
On my way to the forest, You came;
You came upon my footpath.
Swooping down like a kite,
You caught hold of my hand.

Then my bun ring came undone,
Letting my kadam[nb 2] crown fly off.
Unsolicited, why did You come
Just to show a familiar path?

With the magic of your melody
my mind is intoxicated;
with the rhythmic cadence of your dance
my mind is overjoyed.

Why do you lavish your love on me?
I don't call you,
but you come
to flood me with joy.
