Bhálabási tomáy ámi
Rayechi o carań cumi
Báuṋlá máyer shobhá tumi
Áj kena shukáo

কোন্‌ সে দেশে যাও
পদ্মা নদীর প্রীতি নিয়ে
সাগর পানে ধাও

তোমার ফুলে ফলে ভরা
যা' কিছু সব মধুক্ষরা
মিষ্টি মানুষ মিষ্টি কাশ কুশ
মিষ্টি চোখে চাও

ভালবাসি তোমায় আমি
রয়েছি ও চরণ চুমি'
বাঙলা মায়ের শোভা তুমি
আজ কেন শুকাও

My river, Madhumati,
O'er which country you proceed?
The love of River Padma taking,
You race toward the sea.

Brimming with your fruits and flowers–
Honeydripping, each and every one of them–
Sweet humans and sweet kush-kash,
With sweet eyes, do take notice.

Yourself I am loving;
I've remained, kissing your feet.
You are the beauty of what is Bengali;
Why, today, are you evaporating?
