Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ásá ár jáoyá cáoyá ár páoyá
Ei niye shudhu beṋce tháká
Jaŕ o cetan jata ańuman
Jiivan sabár e chake áṋká

Ásite cáini balá náhi jáy
Kehai thákiyá jáite ná páy
Ásá-jáoyár e nitya liiláy
Ghargharii cale rathacáká
Bhúmámánaser bhábe d́háká

Tarushyámalimá raviraktimá
Áshákáshe jyotsnámadhurimá
Bháśáy jáháre dite náre siimá
Se prabhu race e kuheliká
Tháká ná thákár praheliká

Coming and going, wanting and getting,
Staying alive is with these only.
Insensate and sensate, any atomic mind,
Everybody's life is traced by this scheme.

I can't say: I did not desire to come
Or that anyone remaining must not go off.
By this frequent-visiting's everlasting sport,
Horse-bells and chariot-wheels proceed;
They're cloaked by the fancy of Cosmic Psyche.

A tree's verdancy and the sun's color ruddy,
Upon hope's sky moonlight's honeyed beauty–
To give them speech there's no frontier.
That Master, He creates this obscurity:
Staying-and-not-staying's mystery.
