Niirava carańe ele ábár
Dváro khulini ásite balini
Kii kariyá ghare ele ámár

Jharajhara báhire jhare jal
Kájal dhoyá áṋkhi chilo sajal
Ákásher niire mor áṋkhi niire
Varaśá samiire chilo ekákár

Áṋkhi muche' dekhi tumi ácho ghare
Ek kare diye báhire bhitare
Báhirer ámi bhitarer tumi
Palake bháuṋgilo siimá kárágár

বাদল নিশীথে সেই বাদল নিশীথে ঘন তমসাতে
নীরব চরণে এলে আবার
দ্বারও খুলিনি আসিতে বলিনি
কী করিয়া ঘরে এলে আমার

ঝরঝর বাহিরে ঝরে জল
কাজল-ধোয়া আঁখি ছিল সজল
আকাশের নীরে মোর আঁখি নীরে
বরষা সমীরে ছিল একাকার

আঁখি মুছে' দেখি তুমি আছ ঘরে
এক করে দিয়ে বাহিরে ভিতরে
বাহিরের আমি ভিতরের তুমি
পলকে ভাঙ্গিলো সীমা-কারাগার

On that cloudy night, with dense darkness,
with silent feet You came this time.
I did not even open the door,
did not ask on coming,
what for You had come to my home?
Outside it was raining profusely.
The eyes were wet washing away the ka'jal.
The water from the sky and water from my eyes,
with rainy wind had become unified.
On wiping the eyes,
I saw that You were present in home,
making one the outside and inside.
Within moment, You broke
the prison boundary of
me outside and You inside.
