Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Bhálabesechile ámáre priya
Vinimaye kichu cáoni
Duhát bhariyá niye gechi dána
Kona kichu dite párini

Ráter áṋdháre diye gecho álo
Vivek jágáye jánále kii bhálo
Vajra ághośe jváláile kálo
Shalákáro shikhá náoni

Aparáhneri nistej átape
Kahile ámáre káńe cupecupe
Ámi áchi sáthe sukhe duhkhe tápe
Tomáke kakhano bhulini

O Dear, You have loved me
and did not want any thing in return.
I have continued collecting gifts from You
spreading both hands,
but could not give You any thing.
You have been providing light
in the darkness of the night,
by awakening the power of discrimination,
You taught me what is good.
With thunderous voice, You burnt the darkness,
without bringing the flame-stick.
During dull sunlight of the afternoon,
You whispered into my ears secretly,
“ I am there with you during pain, pleasure and heat,
without forgetting you any time.”
