Tumi ekákii chile priya ekáki chile
Stambhita chilo sabi
Se amánishári ghore

(Tamasáy) Tamasáy chile ekelá
Chilo ná belá abelá
Chilo ná phuleri málá
Ná keu paráte gale

(Cáile) Cáile rauṋeri melá
Thákibo ná ár ekelá
Jágábo bhuvane dolá
Priiti udadhikúle
Visrśt́ir prathama pale

(ছিলো না) ছিলো না কিছুই যখন
তুমি একাকী ছিলে প্রিয় একাকী ছিলে
স্তম্ভিত ছিলো সবই
সে অমানিশারই ঘোরে

(তমসায়) তমসায় ছিলে একেলা
ছিলো না বেলা-অবেলা
ছিলো না ফুলেরই মালা
না কেউ পরাতে গলে

(চাইলে) চাইলে রঙেরই মেলা
থাকিবো না আর একেলা
জাগাবো ভুবনে দোলা
প্রীতি-উদধিকূলে
বিসৃষ্টির প্রথম পলে

O Dear Lord, when there was nothing,
You were all alone.
All were astonished,
in that intense darkness.
You were alone in the darkness;
there was question of good or bad time.
There was no floral garland,
neither there was anybody
to place that around Your neck.
You wanted colorful festivity,
did not want to stay alone any more,
wanted to raise stir in the world,
on the shore of the ocean of love
during initial moment of rain.
