Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Malayánile ei shephálii múle
Sáṋjher pradiip-kháni jváliye rákhi
Cáivár kichu ár ámár je nái
Priitir parág niye marme mákhi

Ásá jáoyá kona kichu tomár to nái
Sháshvata prabhu chile ácho tái
Bhaviśyateo theke jábe sadái
Nijeke bholáte shudhu nikat́e d́áki

Manane chile tumi ácho smarańe
Ácho tumi juge juge ráte dine
Káche ási mane sari abhimáne
Nijer apúrńatá jatane d́háki

With sandal breeze, at the root of this shefa’lii,
i have kept the evening lamp kindled.
I have nothing to desire, as i have smeared
the fragrance of love in the core.
there is nothing like coming and going for you.
as you are eternal, and have remained.
you shall ever remain in future,
hence forgetting my own self, i only call you close.
you were in mind, and are present in memory;
you have existed in ages after ages, day and night.
the mind wants to come close,
covering carefully my own imperfection.
