Áshár áloke bhará
Valgávihiin chilo je man
Áj se atmahárá

Kśudra ańur jhalkáni ámi
Áshá nirásháy duli divájámii
More bhálabese krpá nirjáse
Dile nava práńadhárá

Áshár atirikta je dile
Tuccha ámi-te amrta mákhále
Priitir dyutite bhará pratiitite
Bharile andhakárá

পথ বেঁধে’ দিলে এ কী ভালবাসা
আশার আলোকে ভরা
বল্গাবিহীন ছিল যে মন
আজ সে আত্মহারা

ক্ষুদ্র অণুর ঝলকানি আমি
আশা-নিরাশার দুলি দিবাযামী
মোরে ভালবেসে’ কৃপা নির্যাসে
দিলে নব প্রাণধারা

আশার অতিরিক্ত যে দিলে
তুচ্ছ 'আমি'-তে অমৃত মাখালে
প্রীতির দ্যুতিতে ভরা প্রতীতিতে
ভরিলে অন্ধকারা

Composing the path, this love is great and strange,[nb 2]
Full of hope's light-rays.
A mind that was unreined,
Sense of self it lost today.

I am the flashing of a small and puny atom,
Day and night I sway between hope and desperation;
But being loved by the distillate of kindness,
In mind comes fresh flow of strength...

Hope's surfeit, when that is provided,
On a trifling 'I', ambrosia, it gets coated;
Then by insight, love's splendor filled,
The gloomy dark, jam-packed it's made...
