Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

(Prabhu) Tomáte ámáte paricay kabe
Lekhá nei itiháse
Tumi chile ár ámio chilum
Carańareńur áshe

Bájáte veńuká tumi abhirám
Táháte mátiyá ámi nácitám
Tomákei shudhu bhálabásitám
Básini dánera áshe

Tárpar kata jug cale' geche
Jaŕeri áveshe tamasá eseche
Se kuyáshá bhedi' tava dyuti náce
More t́áne jáni ná kena se

O Lord, when we were introduced to each other,
is not recorded in history.
You were there and I was there
with the hope of the dust of Your feet.
You were playing charming flute
and I was engrossed in dancing.
I loved only You.
Unwashed with the hope of gift.
After that how many eons have passed.
With the attraction of lifeless beings,
inertia came. Piercing through that fog,
Your glow dances, but why does not it pull me,
I do not know.
