Sarita jadi shukaiya gelo is the 2722nd song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Saritá jadi shukáiyá gelo
He mahodadhi kii habe
Balo tumi balo
Nagamekhalár jharńádhárár
Rabe ki práń ucchala

Je práń jegeche utseri mukhe
Avalupta tá hay jadi duhkhe
Takhan táháke kii balibe loke
E moha utsa ná dúr hok

Saritá ámi abádhe chut́echi
Ut́hánámá path báhiyá calechi
Tomári chande mátiyá rayechi
Ná thámiyá ek palo

If a stream, evaporating, on it went;
Hey the Great Ocean, what will happen?
You say please, pray do tell.
Of mount-draping[nb 2] fount of water,
Will her vigor stay effusive?

From mouth of Source only, that vigor has awakened;
When in sorrow, it does vanish.
In that case what will people say to Him:
This infatuation-fount, may it not be distant.

A river am I, and I've raced incessantly;
I have moved, plying route rising and falling.
I have been delighting greatly in a rhythm Yours only,
Pausing not for even a brief moment.

Notes

  1. ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
  2. ^ The Naga Mekhala is a traditional sarong-like skirt, worn by Naga women. However in the current context, it makes sense to consider also a more literal meaning.
