Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Shudhái ni nám ke jena balilo
Tumi ásitecho mor ghare
Shune bujhilám etadin pare
Tumi bhávitecho mor tare

Varaśer par varaś giyáche
Sharat sandhyá kata cale geche
Shishire bhejá shephálii keṋdeche
Kata nám ná jáná viithi pare

Jug bhese geche jugántare dhare
Rákhiyáchi kii maneri mukure
Jhaŕ jhaiṋjhá upekśá kare
Tomár chavit́i priiti bhare

I did not ask the name; did someone say
That to my house You are coming.
Having heard, I'd understood: finally
You are thinking about me.

Vanished has the time, year after year;
So many autumn evenings, they have disappeared!
Dew-drenched, night-jasmine have been crying
Upon roads with name unknown aplenty.

An age has sailed away on an epoch's heels,
And what am I keeping upon mirror of my psyche?
Rainstorm and hurricane, after disregarding,
Remains the image of Yourself, lovingly.
