In the intense summer heat,
From the scorching summer heat
creepers trembling with affliction,
Creepers shudder out of grief;
my flower dried up.
And, likewise, my bloom is seared.
With Your touch, the rain You bring;
You deluge the dried-up stream...
You make a spring flow endlessly.

By a simple touch,
Listen, listen to my sad story...
You gift rain
Don't inflict more pain on me;
and bring about floods
Don't You know my bosom's aching?
into dried up streams.
Your heart, it is adamantine,
You make fountains immensely overflow.
Devoid of any feeling...
You've enjoyed making me weep!

Listen to me, do not give any more pain!
If like mine Your heart had been,
Do not you know
You would have seen so very many
what pain is resonating in my heart?
Distressed creatures in utter agony.

Accept my thousand curtsies please,
How harsh are you!
All kneeling at Your holy feet.
You are without feelings!
Have mercy on me, oh Heart-Thief.
Making me cry,
You smile in great joy.

If you would have had a heart like mine,
You could have understood,
how much agony living beings suffer.

With a request
to bestow your grace upon me,
please accept my hundreds of salutations
directed all unto your feet!

O stealer of hearts!
